Cleaning Your Bean Bag Chair

Taking care of your bean bag chair not only keeps it looking good, but also extends the life of your chair. Follow the cleaning instructions below to keep your bean bag furniture looking nice.

Cleaning Vinyl Bean Bags:

Includes: Shiny Vinyl & Satin Vinyl (non-glossy) or Muted

Use warm water and a mild detergent on a cloth to remove general dirty areas of the bean bag chair. Liquid dish soap is an example of a mild detergent. Do not use abrasive cleaners because they may scratch the fabric. Some household cleaners and solvents remove plasticizers, which may cause the vinyl to become brittle. Use a (soft bristle) toothbrush for stubborn marks. Use a clean cloth to wipe the fabric dry. Never immerse the bean bag chair in water.

Cleaning Nylon Bean Bags:

Includes: Indoor / Outdoor (Outdura or Sunbrella) Nylon

Use a (soft bristle) toothbrush and water with a mild detergent to remove general dirty areas of the chair. Apply to area and brush with a circular motion and wipe clean with a dry cloth. If mild detergents are not potent enough for stubborn marks, try using specialty cleaners made for cleaning vehicle fabrics. Convertible top cleaner will clean nylon and can be found at automotive care stores. Do not immerse in water.

Cleaning Cotton Fabric Bean Bags:

Includes: Denim & Twill

Use water and a mild detergent on a cloth to remove general dirty areas of the chair. Liquid dish soap is an example of a mild detergent. Use a soft-bristle toothbrush for stubborn marks. Apply to dirty area and brush with a circular motion and wipe clean with a dry cloth. Do not immerse in water or steam clean. If you have purchased a FUF Chair with a removable cover, the covers are machine washable on a gentle setting.

Cleaning Faux Suede Bean Bags:

Includes: Faux Suede & Passion Suede

Use water and a mild detergent on a cloth to remove general dirty areas of the chair. Liquid dish soap is an example of a mild detergent. A spot fabric cleaner can also be used. Gently scrub unclean area and wipe clean with a dry cloth. Do not immerse in water. If you have purchased a FUF Chair with a removable cover, the covers are machine washable on a gentle setting.

Proper Use

Our bean bag chairs were built to high durability standards. However, to keep your bean bag chair in good condition for a long time, here are some pointers:

• Do not place bean bags on rough surfaces (i.e. concrete, outdoor surfaces)
• Do not jump on bean bag chairs
• Avoid sitting in chair while wearing clothing/accessories with sharp metal edges (i.e. belt buckles, wristbands, jewelry)
• Keep away from animals with claws that can puncture the fabric
