Enhance Jungle Safari Decor Using Animal Print Bean Bags
Spring has sprung! Time for cost-effective room makeovers using fresh new ideas and warm weather themes. For instance, consider transforming your screened porch or sitting room into a tropical paradise using a jungle safari décor.
The trend in tropical theme decor is a mix of fresh innovative accents with jungle decor to create a relaxed atmosphere. For a fresh new look that spells comfort and fun!
Place a bean bag leopard print chair next to a tall silk artificial tropical plant. Or try a dracaena plant; an easy to grow ornamental with indoor tropical plant appeal.
The "dragon tree" is an especially impressive specimen. Position the bean bag chair and plant at one end of the room near a window so the plant receives adequate light.
Put an over-sized Fuf chair made from zebra print fabric against a wall that faces windows; position shade-loving flowering plants on either side. Try a daylily plant with graceful blooms on tall leafless stems, surrounded by grass-like foliage.
Arrange other plants around the room. Try "buddah's-belly," a growing bamboo plant. Or a small container gardening plant, such as festuca. A family of perennial grasses that tolerate moderate to heavy shade. The "festuca glauca" variety has lovely blue-green foliage that grows up to 12-inches tall.
Complete your tropical home décor by incorporating any of the following into the design:
- Digital pictures of beach scenes converted into sepia tone images. Place on a backdrop of papyrus; attach to a cork tile.
- Use decorative papyrus to turn plain glass candleholders into tropical beacons. Attach strands of sisal thread with wood beads, if desired.
- Attach paper lanterns in neutral colors to light fixtures.
- Use beach mats as rugs.
